1:1 Emotion Coaching

1:1 Emotion Coaching

How it works

  • One-to-one sessions: 30 minutes each, once a week, over 12 weeks

  • Stable setting: same practitioner, time and place for predictability

  • Initial consultation: assessment paperwork and family conversation to shape the course

  • Session activities: crafts, sensory play, worksheets and puppet-led role play

  • Home practice: simple between-session tasks to reinforce new skills (with your encouragement)

  • Confidential process: what your child shares stays in the session unless there’s a safeguarding concern

Who benefits?

1:1 Emotion Coaching supports children and young people (age 5+) experiencing:

  • Anxiety, phobias, or anger management challenges.

  • Negative thoughts, intrusive worries, or perfectionism.

  • Low self-esteem and a need for confidence building.

  • Separation anxiety, difficulties sleeping independently, or school-related stress including emotion-based school avoidance (EBSA).

  • A need for clear, practical strategies to manage difficult emotions and improve communication with parents.

Through this approach, children often gain:

  • Clear, practical strategies to manage difficult emotions

  • Improved confidence and self-belief

  • Reduced anxiety and calmer responses to stress

  • Stronger problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Enhanced resilience and sense of independence

  • Better communication and connection with parents
